What is linear motion? We can understand the operating principle of linear motion through Newton's first law-uniform linear motion. According to Newton's first law, the object will continue to move forward and move along a straight line at a constant speed without any interference from external forces. Although this may seem like a very simple movement, under many high-precision requirements, we also need to use the best materials and manufacturing technology to achieve the accuracy required by engineering.
MecHero offers various sizes, accuracy, and loading capacity of linear motion components.

Linear motion components have a wide range of uses, mainly used in machinery and equipment with high accuracy requirements and in automated machineries, such as medical equipment, heavy industrial machinery, laser welding machines, automatic door systems, and so on. Besides, linear motion components can also be used in some biological research and computer component systems. Almost a system that uses linear motion on a plane, we will use these linear motion components to complete.
The main components of the linear motion system can be divided into actuators, linear bearings, linear motor, and control systems.
Actuator
The actuator is an indispensable component in the automation system. Its function is to accept the control signal sent by the controller, adjust the size and flow of the medium, to maintain the controlled variable within the required range. In a linear system, it is used to initiate linear motion along an axis. According to the form of energy, it can be divided into three categories: pneumatic, hydraulic and electric. The actuator includes an acme screw driven actuator, anti-backlash actuator, ball screw driven actuators, belt-driven actuator, continuous duty cycle actuator, metric machine screw actuator, modular actuator, metric machine screw actuator, non-driven actuator, rack & pinion actuator, rod-style actuator, and so on.
Linear Bearing
A linear bearing is a rolling or sliding bearing used for linear motion, as a support in a linear motion system and a bearing that helps produce linear motion. Usually, linear bearings use bushings or roller sliding systems to carry the load on the guide rail. The length of the guide rail is arbitrary. The service life of the bearing will vary according to its load and speed. It is widely used in the sliding parts of industrial machinery such as the food industry, precision machine tools, printing machines, textile machinery, food packaging machinery, and so on. Linear Bearing includes linear rolling rail, rolling bushing, plain linear bearing, etc.
Linear Motor
The linear motor efficiently converts electrical energy into mechanical energy for linear motion through electromagnetic interaction. Because it can directly generate linear motion, it does not require any intermediate conversion transmission device, thereby reducing cost and space usage. The positioning accuracy of the linear motor is high, it can directly realize the transmission action of the linear motion, and eliminate various positioning errors caused by the intermediate links, and improve the positioning accuracy of the entire motion system. The linear motor can make its mover supported by magnetic levitation, so that the mover and the stator do not contact each other and maintain a certain gap, thereby eliminating the contact friction resistance between the stator and the mover, and also improving the operating speed and sensitivity.
Linear Control System
A linear control system is a system that has input and output and satisfies the principle of superposition. The principle of superposition includes superposition and homogeneity. It mainly provides monitoring of the linear motor and system position. The control system can provide the circuit equipment needed by the position sensor to control the movement from multiple axes at the same time. For example, the autopilot system of the aircraft and the automatic water level adjustment system of the boiler, etc., these systems are a collection of physical components that complete a series of designated tasks. The control system is the physical system realized by the control means to obtain the expected result. This type of system has good accuracy and sensitivity.
Besides, the most common linear motion components also include ball spline, ball screw, linear guide rail, and linear stage. The operating principle of the ball spline and the ball screw is roughly the same, and both use its nut to achieve linear sliding movement along the shaft.
Linear guide bearings are used for linear reciprocating motion applications and have a higher rated load than general linear bearings. Besides, it can also bear a certain torque and achieve high-precision linear motion under high load conditions. Linear guides mainly provide linear motion through rolling elements that continuously circulate between the profiled rail and the bearing seat. Its function is to support and guide the moving parts to make linear movement back and forth in the specified direction.
The features of linear guide rail:
1. The ability to automatically adjust
During installation, the elastic deformation of the steel ball and the transfer of the contact point produce the ability of automatic adjustment, thereby obtaining high-precision and stable linear motion.
2. Has high rigidity
Can withstand loads from any direction. You can also apply pre-compression when necessary to increase rigidity.
3. High positioning accuracy and high efficiency
Due to the small friction coefficient, it can move flexibly, improve work efficiency, and accurately locate the position of the machine tool.
4. Lower cost
The use of linear reciprocating motion and low frictional resistance reduces the power energy required and reduces the application of electricity.
5. A large amount of load
The rigidity is large, and the sliding block and the guide rail are tightly closed together, which is that it has a large load-carrying capacity.
