What is a welding machine?
Welding machine refers to an electrical appliance that provides power with certain characteristics for welding. The welding machine generates heat through the power source. This heat will melt the metal parts, so the two parts can be connected and joined together. Welding is widely used in various industrial fields, such as aerospace, shipbuilding, automobiles, containers, etc., because of its flexibility, simplicity, convenience, firmness and reliability, and even the same strength as the base material after welding. The welding process can also be divided into many types, such as MIG welding, TIG welding, and ARC welding.
Types of welding
Arc welding
Arc welding is the most widely used welding method in industrial production. Use the metal to be welded as one pole and the welding rod as the other pole. Arc welding is powered by the welding power source. Under a certain voltage, when the two poles are close, an arc will be generated between them. The arc will be converted into heat, which can melt the welding rod and the parts and form a weld after condensation, thereby obtaining a welding process with a strong joint. This arc welding method is often used for welding steel, stainless steel, and cast iron. Common arc welding methods mainly include electrode arc welding (SMAW), submerged arc welding (SAW), argon tungsten arc welding (GTAW or TIG welding), and so on.
MIG Welding
MIG welding is a welding method in which inert gas coats the welding part to promote the stability of the arc and prevent welding quality changes. The metal of the welding part is melted by the arc heat, and the welding rod is sent to connect the weld. It is generally called semi-automatic welding and coated gas arc welding. Or carbon dioxide arc welding and so on. MIG welding is mainly used to connect various types of alloys and metals, such as the connection between aluminum and metal. A large current is concentrated in the welding part, and the heat can be concentrated locally to weld it very quickly, so the amount of deformation that occurs is small. There will not have any spatter during the welding process, and there will be no slag in the welded part. Applicable to the auto repair industry.
TIG Welding
TIG welding is tungsten inert gas welding, generally called non-melting electrode gas shielded welding. It mainly uses pure tungsten or activated tungsten as an inert gas that does not melt the electrode to protect arc welding and uses the arc between the tungsten electrode and the part as a heat source to melt the added welding wire to form a weld. During the welding process, the tungsten electrode does not melt, but only acts as an electrode. At the same time, argon or helium gas is fed into the nozzle of the welding torch as protection. Metal can be additionally added as needed. It can be used to weld a wide range of materials, including alloy steel, copper, aluminum, magnesium alloy, lead, silver, ordinary steel, stainless steel, bronze, nickel, and titanium. Therefore, this welding method is suitable for welding thin or medium thickness metal parts. However, during the TIG welding process, strong ultraviolet rays and high ozone concentrations are generated, which can cause harm to the human body. Therefore, we need to wear special protective equipment to avoid physical harm.
According to different industries, there are many welding machines for different purposes on the market. The main welding machines are usually used by industries that can be divided into AC arc welding machine, DC welding machine, spot welding machine, plasma arc welding machine, argon arc welding machine, laser welding machine, submerged arc welding machine and etc.

In order to choose a suitable welding machine for welding work, we usually consider the following factors to decide:
1. The material to be welded and its thickness
2. The amount of current required for welding
3. The working environment during welding
4. Part of the welding position
In addition, we must pay attention to personal safety issues during the welding process and wear suitable protective measures to protect our own safety.
